Join us for a two part course that consists of an evening lecture on May 16 at the Missoula Lifelong Learning Center and an all day hands on session May 18 on the Northside at Bad Goat Forest Products.
June 13 & June 15, 2019
Join us for an evening lecture on June 13 at the Missoula Lifelong Learning Center and June 15 for a one day field intensive 20 miles northeast of Missoula in the Gold Creek drainage of the Blackfoot River.
Black Ash Pack Basket Course
August 9-11, 2019 in Condon, MT at the Beck Homestead
Participants will harvest basket materials straight from an ash log and use a free-form weaving technique to weave the basket. Then students will carve and bend basket runners, rim and handles. The pack baskets will be finished with leather straps that students will cut themselves and fasten with hand peened copper rivets.
$300 course tuition* and $50 materials fee
*Tuition includes lodging at the Beck Homestead

Missoula Summer MADE Fair
June 23, 2019
Stop by Caras Park in Downtown Missoula from 10am-5pm and check out the handcrafts by local artisans, including Wilderness Handworker. We will have hand carved paddles, black ash pack baskets, birch bark baskets and canisters, as well as carved woodenware and nålbound hats.
